A big rich wine

We travelled to Spain in 2009 to get superior clones of this great variety. The ones we found in nurseries near Logroño had much smaller berry and bunch sizes than what was available in Australia. These attributes give us a wine that is higher in colour, flavour and tannins. After years in quarantine and nurseries, we planted our first vines in 2013 and have just released the 2025. A warm season ensured that it would be a bigger wine than usual and extended cellaring will bring its rewards. Nevertheless, keen customers have already been enjoying its dusty cherry, mulberry, strawberry and blackcurrant notes. We hope to hold some barrels back for longer maturation and these will be bottled for release in 2027.
